Executive Vice President Finance and Chief Financial Officer of Alaska Air Group
Brandon Pedersen is responsible for the Finance and IT organizations at Alaska Air Group and is a member of Air Group’s Executive Committee. He was recognized by The Puget Sound Business Journal as its “CFO of the Year” in 2015 for public companies with more than $1 billion in revenue. Prior to assuming the role of CFO in 2010, Pedersen served as vice president of finance and controller.
He came to Alaska Airlines in 2003 from the Seattle office of KPMG, one of the nation's largest public accounting firms, where he was an assurance partner. He began his professional career as a staff accountant in the Seattle office of Arthur Andersen. During a 12-year period there, he rose to partner and handled a diverse range of clients and projects.
Pedersen is a graduate of the University of Washington, with bachelor's degrees in business administration and economics, and is a Certified Public Accountant. He remains active on campus and in the community – he is currently a member of the Audit Advisory Committee of the University of Washington (an advisory committee to the UW Board of Regents), co-facilitates an EMBA class on leadership and corporate governance at the UW Foster School of Business, serves as a co-chair of the Board of Governors of the World Trade Center Seattle, and is on the board of Northwest Harvest. He previously served on the boards of the American Red Cross of King and Kitsap Counties, and the Seattle Art Museum. He and his wife Janet have three adult children and live in Seattle.
