"Seattle football fans are scrambling to get to Charlotte in time for Sunday's game. With limited flights, we simply had to step in to fill this void. So we're sending a special charter flight to Charlotte for fans to cheer on Russell and the team," said Joe Sprague, senior vice president of communications and external relations. "As Seattle's hometown airline, we get it, you want to be there in person to cheer on the hometown team."

Supporting Cancer Research with Each Touchdown
In an effort to continue to build national awareness and raise money for Strong Against Cancer, a multi-year initiative dedicated to ending childhood cancer, Alaska Airlines will increase its mileage donation for game two. For every Seattle touchdown during the playoff game in Charotte, Alaska will donate 25,000 miles to Strong Against Cancer. Funds raised go directly to research in immunotherapy treatments developed by the Ben Towne Center for Childhood Cancer Research at Seattle Children's Research Institute. In clinical trials, this breakthrough treatment has had a 91 percent success rate.

Additionally, some of Alaska top Mileage Plan members have donated more than 1 million miles to Strong Against Cancer to be part of this experience.

Wilson was named Alaska's honorary CFO – 'Chief Football Officer' – in 2013. Together, the airline and the quarterback are engaging with Alaska's customers and supporting youth in the community through events like the Russell Wilson Passing Academy, as well as the efforts with Strong Against Cancer.
