ANCHORAGE, Alaska, Sept. 25, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — Alaska Airlines launched its Permanent Fund Dividend sale today, featuring savings on air fares, Vacations packages and 25 percent off freight shipping within the state of Alaska. The special PFD rates are on routes between Alaska and the Lower 48 states, Hawaii, Canada and Mexico for travel purchased by Oct. 30, 2012.

"This sale features some very attractive fares so that residents receiving their checks next month can plan ahead to purchase discounted travel to many destinations where we fly, including Hawaii and Mexico," said Marilyn Romano, the airline’s regional vice president for the state of Alaska.

The fares are one way, valid for travel beginning Oct. 9, 2012, through Aug. 19, 2013, except for some markets as listed below that have different start and completion dates. Travel requires a 14-day advance purchase. Additional restrictions, taxes and fees apply*.

* PFD fare rules: Fares are for travel starting Oct. 9, 2012, except for travel to/from: King Salmon and Dillingham, which begin June 2, 2013; Gustavus, which begins June 9, 2013; and Honolulu, which begins Nov. 5, 2012. Tickets require 14-day advance purchase and must be purchased by Oct. 30, 2012, for travel through Aug. 19, 2013, except for: Honolulu travel must be complete by June 9, 2013; travel to the following markets must be complete by May 15, 2013: Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Chicago, Denver, Dallas/Fort Worth, Fort Lauderdale, Houston, Kansas City, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Newark, Orlando, Philadelphia, San Antonio and St. Louis. Tickets are nonrefundable, but can be changed for a $75 fee when changes are made online at alaskaair.com ($100 when changes are made through our reservation call centers) and any applicable differences in fare. Canadian and Mexican government taxes and fees are based on the currency exchange rate effective Sept. 5, 2012, and are subject to change.
