SEATTLE, April 3, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — Alaska Airlines announced today it will launch a new daily nonstop flight between Portland, Ore., and Pasco, Wash., starting Aug. 27, on Bombardier Q400 aircraft operated by Horizon Air.

"We’re proud to have served the Pasco community from Seattle for more than three decades and are delighted to offer a more convenient flight for travelers flying to and from Portland," said Joe Sprague, Alaska Airlines’ vice president of marketing.

Pasco represents the third city that Horizon Air began serving when the carrier started operations in September 1981, and one of three cities (with Kennewick and Richland) that make up the Tri-Cities region of Eastern Washington. The new PortlandPasco route enables passengers heading to California and Hawaii to connect to flights beyond Oregon, rather than first flying through Seattle.

To celebrate the new service, Alaska Airlines is offering one-way fares from $69* for tickets purchased from April 3 to April 16, for travel Aug. 27 to Nov. 7, 2012. Tickets are available for purchase on www.alaskaair.com or by calling 1-800-ALASKAAIR (800-252-7522 or TTY/TDD line 800-392-0228).
