Greg Mays Joins Alaska Airlines as Managing Director of Airframe, Engine and Component MRO

SEATTLE, Dec. 5, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — Greg Mays has joined Alaska Airlines as managing director of airframe, engine and component MRO (maintenance repair and overhaul). Mays will manage heavy airframe maintenance and its oversight process as well as engine and component heavy maintenance for the airline.

Mays began his aviation career at Boeing Co. as a senior engineer working on NASA-related programs, including the space station. He later moved to Delta Air Lines and held several positions of increasing responsibility in maintenance, including manager of enterprise planning, general manager of engine maintenance operations, director of below-wing operations and, most recently, managing director of global cargo operations.

Mays earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Alabama and an MBA from Emory University. At Alaska Airlines he replaces Yvonne Daverin, who recently became vice president of maintenance and engineering for Alaska Air Group sister carrier, Horizon Air.
